What is HardieGroove lining?
HardieGroove™ lining is a flat sheet that has vertical V-shaped grooves carved into its face. Sanded smooth, it’s site-painted to create the traditional look of tongue-and-groove timber panels. It can be used on either timber or light gauge steel framed homes.
What is a grooved liner?
Description. Grooved Lining plywood is a New Zealand made, cost-effective high-appearance plywood panel with ‘V’ grooves running the length of the panel at 100mm centres. Grooved Lining is suitable for sheltered exterior applications such as soffit linings.
Can Hardie groove be used outside?
Fibre cement cladding is used on the external walls of homes and building facades. Fibre cement is probably the best materials for eaves and soffits (outdoor ceilings) because it’s lightweight and resistant to damage form moisture which may be the result of a roof leak.
How do you paint HardieGroove?
Once HardieGroove lining has been fixed in place, fill over all fixings with a sandable finishing compound. When dry, lightly sand smooth and finish with a suitable paint system. Refer to the paint manufacturer for paint suitability, mixing and application.
What is VJ cladding?
VJ stands for vertical joints (also commonly known as tongue and groove), and it’s a kind of timber or MDF wall panelling with vertical panels, equally spaced. That said, some people use it horizontally too.
Does Villaboard need glue?
Yes you should screw and glue, just try and avoid screwing through the glue (although that generally only relates to timber frames for shrinkage reasons).
Do you use stud adhesive on Villaboard?
Stud adhesive For fastener/adhesive fixing to timber and steel studs. Must be suitable for fibre cement. Notched trowel For applying tile adhesive to face of Villaboard™ lining.
Is Hardiflex a cement board?
HardieFlex® Fiber Cement Board 4.5mm is the best ceiling solution for internal residential applications greater than 6sqm, and as a standard solution for internal walls exposed to low traffic. It is fire-resistant and deemed to be non-combustible.
What is soffit lining?
Soffit refers to the exterior ceiling lining on the underside of a roof or deck that is typi- cally wider than 1200mm. Soffits are not eaves and it’s critical they are designed ac- cordingly and installed correctly.
