What is the difference between a supercharger and ProCharger?

Unlike a basic supercharger, the procharger gives the engine a steady stream of air. A procharger is a type of centrifugal supercharger that uses a rotating impeller to draw air into itself. Once air is inside the impeller, it is then directed outward in a circular manner.

Is a ProCharger faster than a supercharger?

Prochargers are essentially highly powerful, precise, brand name centrifugal superchargers that adds plenty of power to your car. They work differently than your average supercharger and are considerably more efficient. Instead of a rotor, Prochargers use a fast-moving impeller to pull air in to be compressed.

How much HP does a ProCharger add?

Car aficionados make use of the ProCharger to maximize their car's performance and power level to the highest level possible. With the help of a ProCharger kit, your vehicle can get at least a 40-50% increase in horsepower.

How much does a ProCharger kit cost?

D1sc kits will make 600 to 800+HP. P1sc serp kits start @ $2645.00. D1sc serp kits start @ $3245.00. All kits can come with ProCharger air to air coolers, add $1000.00 to $1500.00 to the kit prices above.

Are Prochargers easy to install?

Most ProCharger systems can be installed in 8-10 hours with simple hand tools. All ProCharger street supercharger systems are engineered to the highest quality standards, with no need for cutting of body panels or alterations to stock hardware.

Can you put a ProCharger on a V6?

In addition to complete systems, ProCharger offers Intercooled Tuner Kits for the 3.7L V6 Mustangs: With reliability, quality and power far superior to other forced-air induction systems, a ProCharger Tuner Kit is an excellent way to add even more power to modified and custom tuned 3.7 V6 Mustangs.

Which is better ProCharger or turbo?

From an efficiency standpoint, the turbocharger has an advantage. It takes wasted exhaust and turns it into something useful. Meanwhile, a supercharger won't do this and acts more like a naturally aspirated engine. However, with a turbocharger comes lag.

How long will a ProCharger last?

250,000+ MILES AND STILL TOWING THE FAMILY TOYS!

ProChargers engineering staff works diligently to make sure that years and years of trouble-free ownership is common no matter if we are talking 50k, 100k, or even 200,000 miles or more!

Whats better ProCharger or Whipple?

Both Procharger and Whipple offer a comparable overall power output at minimal boost settings. But, at more significant boost pressures, the Whipple produces more power owing to its bigger (71.5mm) impeller diameter – roughly 10% larger over (65mm) the procharger (65mm).

Can you have a ProCharger and a turbo?

Yes. You can Use both. The concept of supercharger and Turbocharger are slightly different. Infact when you go for turbo charging it involves the concept of suercharging indirectly but not the other way round.

What gives more power turbo or supercharger?

Supercharging Pros: Produces significantly more horsepower than turbocharging. A quick solution to boosting power in larger displacement engines with more cylinders. No power lag as is seen with turbocharging; power delivery is instantaneous.

How much HP does a ProCharger add to a V6?

(165+ HP) A ProCharger supercharger system takes this powerful V6 and elevates well beyond its V-8 brother. On just a small amount of pump gas friendly boost, ProCharger supercharger systems gain 50% or more on just 7psi of boost!

How often do you have to change the oil in a ProCharger?

This oil pump (aeration pump) does not require priming at start-up, and oil changes are required only every 6,000 miles.

Does a ProCharger need an intercooler?

So, on a 50 degree Fahrenheit day, your intake temperature behind the procharger will be a minimum of 102.43 degrees without an intercooler. The compression efficiency will never be 1 due to thermodynamics, so it must be less than 1, which means you're looking at an even higher temp rise without an intercooler.

How do I control my ProCharger boost?

Easy, just turn the variable boost control dial down to the desired level of Boost. Then when you are ready for the higher HP simply turn the dial to MAX or use the configured input on a switch to have 2 preset boost levels and enjoy the full capability of your supercharger.

Does a ProCharger void warranty?

no it wont void your warranty. Example, if you install your procharger, and then later on your window regulator goes out. Replacing the window regulator should be covered under warranty.

Are Prochargers good for towing?

ProCharger and TBR Garage have come to the rescue with more power for both better performance and increased trailer pulling.

Is a supercharger better than a turbo for towing?

If you are installing forced induction just for towing, I would go with a turbo just slightly larger than ideal for your situation to induce turbo lag. This way, you won't be under boost at all times while towing. You will only get into boost when you need it.

Does supercharging hurt fuel economy?

While the turbo's primary drawback is boost lag, the supercharger's is efficiency. Because a supercharger uses the engine's own power to spin itself, it siphons power—more and more of it as engine revs climb. Supercharged engines tend to be less fuel efficient for this reason.
