Submission hold

The cody ring death is a particularly effective submission hold because it applies pressure to sensitive nerves and muscles, causing extreme pain. This pain can be so intense that it forces the opponent to submit in order to avoid further injury.

• Facet 1: Pain compliance

One of the primary ways that the cody ring death forces submission is through pain compliance. When the move is applied correctly, it puts immense pressure on the opponent's neck and shoulder, causing excruciating pain. This pain can be so overwhelming that the opponent is forced to submit in order to stop the pain.

• Facet 2: Nerve damage

In addition to pain compliance, the cody ring death can also cause nerve damage if it is not performed correctly. The pressure from the move can damage the nerves in the neck and shoulder, leading to numbness, tingling, and even paralysis. This nerve damage can be permanent, and it can have a significant impact on the opponent's ability to wrestle.

• Facet 3: Psychological impact

The cody ring death can also have a significant psychological impact on the opponent. The extreme pain and the fear of nerve damage can lead to the opponent developing a fear of the move. This fear can make it difficult for the opponent to compete effectively, and it can even lead to them retiring from wrestling altogether.

The cody ring death is a powerful and dangerous move that can have serious consequences. It is important for wrestlers to be properly trained before attempting this move, and for referees to be vigilant in ensuring that it is performed safely.

Trapped head and arm

The trapped head and arm position is a critical component of the cody ring death, as it allows the wrestler applying the move to put immense pressure on the opponent's neck and shoulder. This pressure can cause extreme pain and discomfort, and it can lead to serious injuries if not performed correctly.

There are a number of ways to trap the opponent's head and arm in the cody ring death. One common method is to use the wrestler's own body to create a cradle, with the opponent's head trapped between the wrestler's legs and their arm trapped against the wrestler's chest. Another method is to use the ropes to trap the opponent's arm, pinning it against the turnbuckle.

Once the opponent's head and arm are trapped, the wrestler can begin to apply pressure. This can be done by pulling back on the opponent's head, pushing down on their shoulder, or both. The pressure will cause the opponent to feel intense pain in their neck and shoulder, and it can also lead to nerve damage if it is not released quickly.

The trapped head and arm position is a very dangerous position, and it should only be used by experienced wrestlers who are properly trained. If the move is not performed correctly, it can cause serious injuries to the opponent.
