Tyler, the Creator is renowned for his vivacious, outgoing demeanour. He stands out in the hip-hop scene thanks to his varied musical tastes.

His album Igor, which won Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards, blended hip-hop with soul and funk to explore themes of same-sex love, solidifying his shift from the contentious lyrics of his former edge lord identity.

Tyler’s acceptance of that murky aspect of himself is a tribute to his remarkable development as an artist because there is undeniably still some stigma around homosexuality in hip-hop.

Tyler the Creator parents: Meet Walter Whitman

Tyler’s father is thought to be a gentleman by the name of Walter Whitman.

Tyler possesses Igbo and Nigerian heritage through his father. Tyler tweeted about his mixed ancestry in 2010, calling himself “half Nigerian” and mentioning his mother’s mixed racial origin by using a racist insult.

The consensus is that Tyler has never met his father before. Fans have hypothesised that he may have at least once crossed paths with his father.

Fans who did some detective work discovered a link between Tyler’s previous YouTube channel, bloxhead, and a blog post on the Hypebeast website published by a user with the same name. Although it hasn’t been confirmed if the blogger was indeed Tyler, “Bloxhead,” he posts about meeting his father.
