Spencer Pratt stands out as one of the most infamous figures in the realm of reality television.

His journey to stardom was marked by his portrayal as the antagonistic partner, and eventual spouse, of Heidi Montag in the immensely popular series, “The Hills.”

However, this article aims to shed light on the enigma of Spencer Pratt’s familial origins and the tumultuous dynamics that have defined his interactions with his parents, uncovering a narrative of ongoing conflicts.

Did Spencer Pratt’s Parents Go To His Wedding?

In November 2008, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag secretly tied the knot in Mexico, opting not to include any family members or friends in the intimate ceremony.

Subsequently, in April 2009, they hosted a grand wedding celebration in Pasadena, California, which was captured on camera for The Hills.

Surprisingly, Spencer’s parents were conspicuously absent from the event, reportedly due to their disapproval of his union with Heidi.

Spencer revealed that his father, William Pratt, a well-respected dentist, had urged him to change his last name, citing embarrassment over his son’s behavior on the show.

Additionally, Spencer claimed that his father severed both financial and emotional ties with him after his marriage to Heidi.

The sole family representative at the wedding was Spencer’s sister, Stephanie Pratt, who also featured on The Hills.

However, her relationship with her brother and his spouse was tumultuous, often leading her to take sides with their adversaries, including Lauren Conrad and Brody Jenner.

Where Is Spencer Pratt Originally From?

Born on August 14, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, Spencer Pratt is the older sibling of Stephanie, who is also known for her television work.

During his school years, he attended the prestigious Crossroads School in Santa Monica, where he forged a close friendship with Brody Jenner, eventually evolving into both camaraderie and rivalry.

After completing his education, Spencer graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in political science.

His original career aspirations leaned towards politics, but a fateful encounter on the set of The Hills in 2007 with Heidi Montag altered his course.

Spencer transitioned into the roles of Heidi’s manager and publicist, actively assisting her in launching her music and fashion ventures.

What Do Heidi Montag’s Parents Do?

Heidi Montag was born in Crested Butte, Colorado, on September 15, 1986, to Darlene and Bill Montag.

She is the eldest of their children.

During her teenage years, her parents went through a divorce, leading her mother, Darlene, to marry Tim Egelhoff, the owner of a restaurant in Crested Butte.

Heidi also has a younger sister named Holly, who made appearances on the reality show “The Hills.”

Heidi’s relationship with Spencer and her decision to undergo multiple plastic surgeries in 2010 were not well-received by her parents.

Her mother’s shock and dismay at seeing Heidi’s transformed appearance on national television became famous.

Subsequently, Heidi accused her mother of abusive and manipulative behavior, resulting in a years-long estrangement from her.

However, in 2015, Heidi’s life took a turn when she and Spencer welcomed their son, Gunner Stone.

This joyous occasion prompted Heidi to reestablish a connection with her mother.

Furthermore, she also rekindled her relationship with her father, who had faced allegations of child abuse and incest in 2014 but was eventually cleared of all charges.

Heidi attributed her newfound appreciation for her parents to the experience of becoming a mother herself.

Does Spencer Talk To His Parents?

Since his marriage to Heidi in 2009, Spencer has not had any communication with his parents.

According to him, they disowned him and declined to acknowledge his son, Gunner, as their grandson.

He also holds them responsible for his financial difficulties, alleging that they stripped him of his trust fund, leaving him with nothing.

Spencer expressed indifference towards his parents and their opinions of him.

He firmly regards Heidi and Gunner as his sole family and believes that their lives are happier without external interference.
