On October 4, 1945, Roco Durcal was born in Madrid, Spain. She participated in the radio program “Conozca a sus Vecinos” (Meet Your Neighbors) when she was 10 years old.

Marietta enchanted the audience during these performances with her melodic and resonant voice, which also helped her win many other radio competitions in which she took part during those years.

Rocío Dúrcal grandchild: Meet Christian Lozano Morales

Christian Lozano Morales is the grandson of Roco Drcal.

Rocio Durcal was given the unfortunate news that the uterine cancer she had in 2001 had spread to her lung and brain. Despite receiving considerable care, Rocio passed away on March 25, 2006, at Torrelodones, Madrid, Spain.

Many other young singer-actors in Spanish movies at this time were also well-liked, such as Raphael, Marisol, Ana Belén, Joselito, the D’o Dinámico, Miguel Roses, and the Pili and Mili twins.

Her paternal grandfather, who always believed in her skill and became her first supporter, discreetly encouraged Drcal when she entered a number of radio song festivals and competitions in the beginning of her artistic career. She took part in the Televisión Espaola television program Primer Aplauso in 1959 with her parents’ agreement.
