Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on 20 February 1988 in the parish of Saint Michael on the island nation of Barbados, of part-Guyanese (mother) and part-Irish (father) descent. She is a singer/songwriter and fashion designer more familiar to most music enthusiasts by her simpler stage name of Rihanna, one of the best known names and most amazing success stories in today’s music industry, having racked up – among other honours – no less than seven Grammies and eight American Music Awards.

So just how rich is Rihanna, as of early-2017? Her talent has allowed her to accrue an impressive net worth of $250 million, as estimated by authoritative sources, and the world-famous performer shows no signs of slowing down.

Rihanna Net Worth $250 Million

Rihanna has come a long way from her humble origins. Brought up in a household troubled by her mother’s drug problems, Rihanna sought solace in music from a very young age – reportedly, the world-famous superstar has been singing since she was seven. Having served briefly in the Barbadian military, it was there that Rihanna met fellow performer Shontelle, another well-known singer from Barbados. By 2003, Rihanna had decided to focus on her budding music career over high school – and it was then that she got her first big break when she met the vacationing music producer Evan Rogers. Rogers introduced Rihanna to a number of famous singers and musicians, including American rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z  who, despite initial scepticism, was quick to help Rihanna sign with his recording label, “Def Jam”, upon hearing her sing. Rihanna looked set for success.

Since then, Rihanna has catapulted into worldwide fame – her very first single, “Pon de Replay”, proved a chart-topping success, ending up second on the Billboard Hot 100, and her first studio album sold over two million copies. Rihanna’s net worth skyrocketed after such successes – and it would only continue to grow as her career progressed.

Touring in 2008 alongside rappers Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna broke through and proved herself a performer of considerable skill when several of her singles remained at the top of charts worldwide for an impressive number of consecutive weeks. By 2010, Rihanna’s collaboration with Eminem had yielded the instantly successful single “Love the Way You Lie”, being her seventh #1 ranked single in the US. Rihanna has since continued to find with every album released, winning her sixth Grammy in 2013.

Rihanna is certainly a global superstar with few equals. Her track record now includes thirteen #1 ranked singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and her sale figures tell you all you need to know about the source of Rihanna’s net worth – to date, she has sold over 30 million albums and 120 million singles worldwide! She has recently topped Mariah Carey’s record as the solo performer with the most #1 ranked hits in the shortest time, and only the legendary “The Beatles” have been quicker in securing thirteen chart-topping singles. Rihanna’s net worth is certain to continue growing, too – with only ten years of professional singing currently under her belt, Rihanna looks to have at least a decade more still in her. If her track record to date is any indication, we may well be looking at the world’s next great legend of music.

In her personal life, she keep’s that private, despite being sought-after by TV talk-show hosts, and for endorsements by many leading firms, including Optus, Kodak and Budweiser among many others.
