Melia McEnery husband

At a 1999 Armani-hosted event in Columbus, Ohio, Melia McEnery, then 22 years old, had her first interaction with singer Eric Clapton, who was 53 at the time. Clapton was thrown a party after his performance. She approached him, despite being under strict orders not to speak to the guests, and asked for an autograph for her uncle.

Even though he had a reputation for being a womanizer, Clapton later told the media that he was taken to her right away and made a conscious choice to act appropriately. Throughout their meeting, the two showed a genuine interest in one another, which prompted them to go on a dinner date immediately away. The brief introduction was only the beginning of their meeting.

Despite having a 31-year age difference, the couple got together right away.

She apparently ended her long-term romance with Chris Losinske, a coffee shop employee, in order to be with Clapton. She stated in one interview that she and Capton were good friends, but her ex-boyfriend alleged that he had actually used limos to woo her away.

They dated for a year before briefly breaking up, presumably due to the demands of his profession. However, in the latter half of 2000, reports that the couple had reconciled and was expecting their first child started to spread. She gave birth to Julie Rose on June 13, 2001.

Within a week, on Father’s Day, June 17, 2001, Clapton proposed to McEnery in her Columbus, Ohio, home by getting down on one knee. Following that, the couple wed in a low-key church ceremony in the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene in Ripley, Surrey, Clapton’s hometown, on January 1, 2002.

It’s interesting to note that everyone there knew they were there to celebrate Julie, their six-month-old daughter, christening. The baptism service also included the baptism of Ruth Kelly Clapton, age 16, a child born out of wedlock to Clapton and Yvonne Kelly, manager of AIR Studios.

Eric Clapton and Melia McEnery renewed their vows in front of the priest and the guests after having their two children christened. Clapton was married to English model and photographer Pattie Boyd from March 1979 to June 1989. He did not have any children from this marriage. While they were still married, he gave birth to his first daughter, Ruth Kelly, in 1985.

His only son, Conor, was born on August 21, 1986, and shortly after that, he had another relationship with Italian model Lory Del Santo. Conor accidentally fell out of an open bedroom window on the 53rd floor of an apartment building in Manhattan when he was four and a half years old, tragically ending his life.

The two daughters of Clapton and McEnery are Sophie Belle, born on February 1, 2005, and Ella May, born on January 14, 2003.
