Daisy Midgeley, portrayed by Charlotte Jordan, has been a beloved figure in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

Debuting in 2020, Daisy arrived in Weatherfield as the stepdaughter of Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and swiftly carved her niche as a troublemaker, a social media influencer, and a romantic interest for Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

However, following a harrowing encounter with a stalker, Daisy has opted to bid farewell to the street for good.

Here, we delve into the details surrounding Daisy’s exit narrative and the motivations driving this decision.

Who Is Daisy Midgeley?

Daisy Midgeley, raised by Jenny Connor and Mr. Midgeley after her mother Christina Boyd married Jenny, has nurtured a deep bond with Jenny despite her father’s divorce from her.

The tragic loss of her half-brother Tom to a drowning incident profoundly affected Daisy, shaping her tendency to mask her emotions behind a facade of smiles.

Daisy’s arrival in Coronation Street transpired in November 2020 when she and her boyfriend Lee visited Rovers Return Inn, managed by Jenny.

Gradually becoming a tenant in Jenny and Johnny Connor’s (Richard Hawley) household, Daisy’s rapport with Johnny soured, leading to attempts to disrupt their marriage.

Additionally, Daisy’s penchant for flirtation embroiled her with individuals like Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), and Daniel Osbourne.

A burgeoning interest in social media enticed Daisy, prompting her to share videos and pictures online in pursuit of influencer status.

She also became entangled in a deceptive multi-level marketing venture named Double Glammy.

Uncovering Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) affair with Jenny’s sister Sharon Bentley (Tracie Bennett), Daisy leveraged this knowledge to extract money from Ronnie.

Eventually, Daisy’s heart inclined towards Daniel Osbourne, a single father and widower to Bertie Osbourne.

Despite his reluctance, stemming from the loss of his wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn), Daniel embraced a budding relationship with Daisy.

Their journey culminated in a 2022 proposal from Daniel, marking Daisy’s acceptance and her subsequent move into 1 Coronation Street.

Why is Daisy Midgeley Leaving Coronation Street?

Daisy Midgeley’s departure hinges on her unfortunate status as the target of a relentless stalker, Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still).

Justin, a former schoolmate, spiraled into obsession upon encountering Daisy’s online presence.

The manifestation of his fixation involved threatening messages, unsettling gifts, unlawful entry into her residence, and even placing a knife on her bed.

Justin’s actions instilled paralyzing fear in Daisy, culminating in her lodging a police complaint.

Regrettably, insufficient evidence hindered Justin’s arrest, fuelling his harassment campaign, which escalated to physical attacks on Daisy’s associates.

His bid to abduct Bertie from his nursery was thwarted by Daniel.

The ultimate turning point transpired when Justin hurled acid at Daisy outside the Rovers Return Inn, aiming to disfigure her.

The misguided attempt led to Ryan Connor, positioned beside Daisy, sustaining grievous burns while Justin’s arrest was finally executed.

Haunted by guilt over Ryan’s ordeal and cognizant of her perpetual peril, Daisy’s resolve to sever ties with Weatherfield crystallized.

Her determination to evade Justin’s relentless obsession led her to confide in Daniel regarding her intent to relocate abroad for a fresh start.

Daniel, driven by love and a desire to shield Daisy, readily agreed. Together with Bertie, they embarked on a farewell journey, bidding adieu to their dear ones.

What’s the Fate of Daisy Midgeley?

Daisy Midgeley, accompanied by Daniel Osbourne and Bertie Osbourne, embarked on their exit from Coronation Street in April 2023.

The trio sought refuge in Australia, aspiring to craft a life free from the shackles of Justin Rutherford’s influence.

Though physical distance separated them, Daisy, Daniel, and Bertie sustained connections through virtual channels, periodically reuniting with their English acquaintances.

While continuing her pursuit of influencing, Daisy embarked on a journey of self-discovery, enrolling in a psychology program.

This quest emanated from her desire to confront her past traumas and unravel her emotional complexities.

Maturing into a compassionate figure, Daisy provided unwavering support to Daniel’s literary aspirations.

Their journey culminated in a quiet Sydney wedding, and the subsequent arrival of their daughter, Daisy Jr.

The rift between Daisy and her father eventually healed as he and Jenny visited Daisy in Australia.

Forgiveness replaced resentment, and Daisy forged a renewed bond with her second mother, Jenny.

Brimming with contentment, Daisy embraced her fresh start, firmly leaving the past behind.
