Who is Fraser Bohm?

Four Pepperdine University students were murdered in a crash in Malibu that featured a motorist who has been re-arrested on four counts of murder, according to authorities on Tuesday.

In order to give detectives more time to gather evidence, Fraser Bohm, 22, who was first detained on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, was released. Four counts of murder have been brought against him following his re-arrest on Tuesday, as per the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. An $8 million bail was imposed for him.

The fatal collision in the 21600 block of Pacific Coast Highway was reported last Tuesday night. According to investigators, Bohm lost control of his vehicle, struck many parked cars, and collided with the women. The incident resulted in the injuries of two more people.

The Sheriff’s Department issued a statement saying, “When a case is presented to the District Attorney’s Office, you need to present supporting evidence for the specific charges being requested for filing within 48 hours.”

“In this specific case, the evidence, including toxicology, speed analysis, execution of search warrants, etc., was still pending and took additional time to collect.”

Niamh Rolston, 20, Peyton Stewart, 21, Asha Weir, 21, and Deslyn Williams, 21, were named as the victims. All of them were seniors at Pepperdine’s Seaver College of Liberal Arts and sorority sisters.

After the four seniors from Pepperdine lost their lives on the treacherous stretch of road, which has been dubbed “Dead Man’s Curve” and “Blood Alley” due to its reputation as a lethal highway, tributes have poured in.

While the students were waiting outside a Pepperdine fraternity house, the 6’4″, 190-pound former top high school athlete is said to have crashed his BMW into a line of parked cars. He was unharmed in the incident.

According to witnesses, Bohm attempted to leave the scene as soon as the collision occurred but was stopped by shocked bystanders.

KTLA was able to obtain footage from the crash that night, showing a sober-faced Bohm being administered a sobriety test by police while the crushed wreckage of his red BMW was being taken away.

Investigators noted in a press release that the development occurred following toxicology and speed studies as well as the issuance of search warrants, following the escalation of Bohm’s charges to murder.
