In 2011, Lauren raised a problem saying whether Islam makes believers more susceptible to radicalization.

The story did not end as Lauren interviewed Reza Alsan, who published a book Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth. She asked,

''why a Muslim would write about Jesus, saying, 'Youre a Muslim', so why did you write a book about the founder of Christanity?''

Aslan also defended the statement many times, and he also cited that his intention was scholarly and not to offend anyone. Green, however, kept pushing him on the same question regardless of his clear explanation.

Erik Wemple, the journalist of The Washington Post, criticized Green's questions citing '' dumb, loaded, prejudicial.'' This was considered one of the embarrassing interviews of the Fox channel.
