Fat Joe is an American rapper from New York City whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena (born August 19, 1970).

In the beginning, he was a part of the hip-hop group Diggin’ in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.). Later, he went solo and founded his own record label, Terror Squad, where he signed artists like Big Pun, Remy Ma, Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link, Armageddon, Prospect, Triple Seis, and the then-unknown DJ Khaled. He also discovered producers Cool & Dre through Terror Squad.

Fat Joe siblings: Meet Andre

Joe has admitted on multiple occasions that Andre, his brother, was the reason behind his career choice. When they were both younger, Andre introduced Joe to hip-hop music.

Joe already knew he wanted to pursue a career in music when he was first exposed to it. He continues to be appreciative of his brother for helping him improve his life and steer it in the correct way.

Andre usually goes to Zulu Nation events to learn more about them. Joe is drawn to Zulu culture as well.

So his brother records the song as an introduction to Joe. As a brother, he did his best to help his younger sibling.

Many of Joe’s followers thought of Big Pun as his brother. It’s not their fault, though. He was seen as Fat Joe’s sibling. They aren’t physiologically linked, though.
