Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most notorious serial killers in American history.

He killed and dismembered 17 men between 1978 and 1991, and engaged in necrophilia, cannibalism, and preservation of body parts.

Jeffrey Dahmer was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1992 but was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994.

But did he have AIDS, the deadly disease that was spreading rapidly in the 1980s and 1990s?

This article will explore this question and some related topics.

The AIDS Epidemic in Milwaukee

Around the time Dahmer committed his first murder in 1987, there was a serious AIDS epidemic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he lived and operated.

According to official records, over a million Americans were coping with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and the disease was claiming lives left and right.

Milwaukee was one of the hardest-hit cities, with a high rate of infection among gay men, and drug users.

Did Jeffrey Dahmer Contract HIV from His Victims?

One of the possible ways Dahmer could have contracted HIV was from his victims, whom he often had sex with before or after killing them.

Dahmer targeted mostly young men of color, who were among the most vulnerable groups to HIV infection.

However, there is no conclusive evidence that Dahmer ever tested positive for HIV or AIDS.

In fact, he claimed that he always used condoms when he had sex with his victims and that he never ate any of their internal organs that could carry the virus.

He also said that he was tested for HIV in prison and the result was negative.

How Did Jeffrey Dahmer Die?

Jeffrey Dahmer met his end on November 28, 1994, when he was attacked by two fellow inmates, Christopher Scarver and Jesse Anderson, in the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin.

Scarver, who later confessed to the murder, said that he hated Dahmer for his crimes and that he believed he was doing God’s work by killing him.

Scarver beat Dahmer and Anderson with a metal bar from a weight machine, inflicting severe head injuries on both of them.

Dahmer died on the way to the hospital, while Anderson succumbed to his wounds a few days later.
